A view of a COMMON MAN

For few months, I have been very busy with my work. I don’t really have any chance to write and upload any article inside this blog. I have a lot of ideas and many thing happened that triggered my mind but I really can’t push myself to actually materialize all my thoughts into words. It is actually my weakness also. However, there was one single event that pushed my will and forces me to write again. Reading all my articles, you actually can guess that I am about to write about a political issue. This article is not a judgment or a statement of support but rather an honest comment from a common man.
The issue of Dato’ Anwar Ibrahim’s sex tape had shocked me to the core. The emergence of a group of high profile figures , who exposed the tape in a hotel in front of senior editors of few newspapers, really put all of us in a difficult situation. Should we believe this? After 12 years, Anwar Ibrahim was accused again with a moral issue. The first one was the sodomy case and then followed by another sodomy case. I don’t really shocked with these cases because there was no physical evidence in a form of video or audio to support the case. However, the third case was more shocking.

I would to view the exposure done by Dato’ T from cultural and political view. There are 2 possible opinions over the tape scandal. If Anwar Ibrahim is the actor in the tape which has been claimed by Dato T, I certainly agree that he is not qualified to be our Prime Minister. Definitely from the Islamic perspective, he does not have the quality which a good leader needs, if he let himself to involve in such scandals . This latest scandal is only an additional bonus point in his political career which will eventually destroy his empire. If Anwar Ibrahim is a common man like me, his bisexuality (if proven) will not become a sensational news. However, since he is not a common man and his scandals are not ordinary one, the whole nation will read on his case. Ok, let me be clear about this. This opinion is merely a view based on the assumption that Anwar Ibrahim is the actor in the tape. What if he is not? What if all these are merely a conspiracy by Anwar Ibrahim’s political enemy to complete a political assassination? This conspiracy can be planned by anyone including by his enemy from PKR itself.
The group of Dato’ T is not operated by a common like me. They are well-known figures and what is more important, they are Malays and Muslims. We don’t know their real motive and who sponsored their activity. If their intention is to get rid of Anwar Ibrahim from Malaysian political arena and in order to that, they plotted everything and produced a sex tape as a vital evident to attack Anwar Ibrahim, their action can’t be simply forgiven by any living soul. Their plan surely was not cheap and they were and most probably they will spend more money to design more attack which can be very disgusting, to stop the influence of Anwar Ibrahim. For the sack of political power, they are willing to do anything including to humiliate their political enemy to the maximum level. Can we actually accept this kind behavior in our political arena? The element of Real Political is clearly can be seen here; the goal justifies the mean. A group of Malay Muslims is trying as possible as they can to disgrace their enemy who is actually a Malay Muslim. Where is our so-called the eastern value? Can we close our eyes and give a very strange privilege to our political arena and all its actors to do whatever they want to, including publicly screen a sex tape, just to complete a political assassination? It is a black day for Malay, Islam and eastern value in Malaysia. However, when you are reading my opinion, you have to bear in mind that this view is purely based on the assumption that the sex tape is a planned plot which was designed to politically assassin Anwar Ibrahim. I believe that the majority of voters who are neutral, will have these views in their mind; Anwar Ibrahim is a bisexual leader and morally corrupted or the sex tape and the current sodomy case and the previous one were a staged plot by Anwar’s political enemy to destroy his career. Thus, I believe this latest sex video scandal will become a vital factor determining which side the votes from the neutral group during the next general election.

The sex tape scandal can be a heavy liability for both ruling party and the opposition. The co-sequence can be very devastating for politics and cultural aspect. If Anwar Ibrahim’s team manages to convince the public that this sex tape is a total plot against him, the next general election will face another greatest result of his team after Mac 2008. At the same, if the people decide that this is the right time for Anwar to exit from Malaysian political arena, the ruling party will lose their greatest opponent ever and will enjoy unopposed fight for few decades in the general election.
